The FBI National Academy Associates Louisiana Chapter hosted their 2018 Annual Conference in historic downtown Natchitoches at the Natchitoches Events Center and Chateau Saint Denis Hotel, April 21-24, 2018. Roger Henson, 2018 President, is the Chief of Corrections at the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center and was excited to bring the conference to his home town.

This year’s training conference was a huge success.  Our chapter members thoroughly enjoyed everything we had to offer here in Natchitoches.  The venues, food, training, spousal’s outings and especially the hospitality were outstanding.  This won the hearts of many of our members, which for many was their first Natchitoches visit, and all spoke of returning soon.  On behalf of FBINAA Louisiana Chapter and myself, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the staff of the Chateau Saint Denis Hotel, the Natchitoches Events Center and everyone that was involved, for all that you did.  Your assistance, professionalism and utmost hospitality is what made this one of the most successful conferences to date.” - Roger Henson, President 2018 FBINAA Louisiana Chapter

The conference kicked off Monday evening with the Presidents Banquet at the Natchitoches Events Center followed by a series of classes and training opportunities. The conference also offered a "Spousal's Outing" in which the ladies had the opportunity to enjoy Natchitoches with a personal guide that took them on tours around town and several of the Plantation Homes located along Cane River Lake. They ended the afternoon with a one-on-one cooking class at Cane River Kitchenware on the famed brick thoroughfare, Front Street. Tuesday evening allowed the attendees to get a true "Taste of Natchitoches". The event was held on the newly renovated Rue Beauport Riverfront overlooking Cane River Lake and offered dishes from several of the downtown restaurants. After dinner everyone walked up the riverbank to Mama's Blues Room and had a great time listening and dancing to one of the local’s favorite bands "Billy O'Con and the Bad Apples". The conference concluded on Wednesday morning with a Prayer Breakfast at Chateau Saint Denis Hotel.
