Chateau Saint Denis Hotel-A New Normal Amidst A Historic Town

Chateau Saint Hotel may have adapted to a new normal, but it still continues to offer the exceptional service and hospitality for which it is known.

Coronovirus or COVID-19 has impacted the hotel industy and required some changes be made.  Even though Natchitoches has had little impact, with none at Chateau Saint Denis, we are adapting to the new normal.  During the month of April, Chateau Saint Denis had the privilege of housing sequestered employees of ADA Carbon Solutions.  Roughly 60 employees accepted the changes required to keep their business up and running and called Chateau Saint Denis home.  The hotel was allowed the opportunity to feed these employees, and make them as comfortable as possible while away from their families.  In doing so, the hotel made some adjustments as well.  The health and safety of these guests was paramount during this time. After all, they were sequestered so they could remain well, allowing continued employment.  Chateau Saint Denis Hotel has always valued exceptional cleanliness.  However, with this group came a new standard of cleaning and disinfecting.  The hotel was committed to following the guidelines set forth by the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and WHO (World Health Organization). This included increased cleaning and disinfecting of high touch areas in both the common areas and the sleeping rooms.  Access to the hotel was limited to registered guests and staff only, Chateau Saint Denis staff underwent daily temperature readings along with a brief health questionnaire.  Reminders were placed throughout the hotel to encourage social distancing and frequent hand washing.  

These are just some of the adaptations that were made and have now become our new normal.  In addition, Chateau Saint Denis is installing acrylic shields at the front desk and has implemented touchless contact (when possible) in registering guests at check in and check out.  The cleaning and disinfecting protocol recommended by the CDC and WHO is a standard that is enforced, as are masks and gloves for the employees of Chateau Saint Denis. 

The employees of ADA Carbon Solution had a wonderful stay with us and the staff of Chateau Saint Denis Hotel enjoyed the activity they brought to the hotel.  Without a doubt, one group for an entire month was a delightful change for Chateau Saint Denis Hotel and with it came the welcoming of the new normal.
