Château Saint Denis Hotel

About the Château Saint Denis Hotel

History and charm run deep in Historic Natchitoches. Established in 1714 by explorer Louis Juchereau de St. Denis, Natchitoches is the oldest permanent settlement in the Louisiana Purchase Territory.  With over 300 years of history comes all of the charm that you would expect from a Southern town and at the heart of the downtown Natchitoches National Historic Landmark District, the Château Saint Denis Hotel offers a location within a stone’s throw from unique opportunities to shop, dine and visit our museums, heritage trails and parks. This Historic District is only one of two in the entire state and features the famed brick thoroughfare, Front Street, nestled above the City’s beautiful waterfront, the scenic Cane River Lake.

About Château St Denis
Château Saint Denis Courtyard

The City’s charming, extensive 18th and early 19th century structures inspired the French Creole concept which is the influence for both the exterior as well as the interior of the Château Saint Denis Hotel.  The largest boutique hotel in downtown Natchitoches offers 87 rooms with luxuriously hand-crafted superior mattresses, custom furniture, draperies and artwork, in addition to fully-appointed bathrooms with specialty toiletries and the convenience of in-room refrigerators and coffee stations with seven units offered as Luxury Suites.  Unlimited Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, as is convenient parking including an electric car charging station, and a guest laundry as well as a daily hot breakfast.

A French Quarter-style brick courtyard featuring a spectacular 19th Century antique fountain is just beyond the dramatic lobby with high ceilings graced with beautiful chandeliers and a double fireplace defining two elegant seating areas in addition to the inviting full-service Lounge 1714, Business Center, “Grab and Go” Sundry Shop and Fitness Room. The Château Saint Denis Hotel also features 4,500 square feet of Ballrooms and Conference Rooms which provide the perfect setting for meetings, conferences, private parties and weddings. The layout of the rooms can be scaled to accommodate groups ranging from 50 to 330 people.

The hotel is perfectly located in the center of the downtown National Landmark Historic District and directly across the street from the Natchitoches Events Center, a 40,000 square foot, multipurpose meeting and convention center.

Located in Northwest Louisiana, just minutes from Interstate 49 and within an hour of two commercial airports, Natchitoches is the quaint town featured in the movie Steel Magnolias.  Major festivals are held downtown each year, including the Natchitoches Jazz/R&B Festival and the world famous “Festival of Lights” Christmas Festival which beautifully illuminates the City with over 300,000 lights and 100 lighted riverbank set pieces each winter during the holiday season.

Natchitoches is nationally recognized as a Distinctive Destination and USA Today recently awarded it’s “Ten Best Reader’s Choice Award” for “Best Southern Small Town.” Natchitoches is also known for its remarkable cuisine offering a variety of unique dining experiences in the downtown district.  A visit to Natchitoches would not be complete without a sampling of a world famous Natchitoches meatpie or iconic Creole cuisine offered at a number of restaurants. Whether leisure or business brings you to Natchitoches, we say…Bienvenue a’ Natchitoches, welcome to Natchitoches!
